The committee asked Béla Király about the fighting in Budapest, the freedom fighters, and the conduct of political prisoners during the revolution. Members of the committee asked József Kővágó, mayor of Budapest during the revolution, in connection with his statement: the details of his arrest in 1950, the charges against him, his discharge, and the aims and events of the revolution. The committee examined in detail who requested that Soviet troops enter the country.
