Witness KK, a chauffeur and truck driver, secretary and deputy chairman of a workers&#039; council for the hotel and restaurant workers, made a statement about the election of the council. Witness LL, who worked in a temporary hospital during the revolution, made a statement with regard to rescue work, the transport of Red Cross supplies, and the interference of the Soviet soldiers with ambulance work. Witness MM was captured and taken to a prison in the Soviet Union.     <dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[Sir Hartley Shawcross, representing the International Commission of Jurists, appeared and made a statement before the committee in regard to the situation in Hungary. He explained a legal point of view on the intervention of the Soviet troops, the trials following the revolution, the status of the country as a Soviet satellite state, and the legality of the Kádár government. The most important points of reference were the Peace Treaty with Hungary (1947), the Geneva Conventions, and the Warsaw Pact.]]></dcterms:abstract>
